Robert L. Stone Sr.'s Obituary
Robert Lincoln Stone Sr, age 85, passed away at his home in Muskegon, MI, on Sunday, January 7, 2024. Robert was born in Muskegon on April 2, 1938, to Francis and Violet (Buris) Stone, and he lived his whole life in the Muskegon area. Robert worked at a variety of places throughout his life, including the LeRoux Foundry, Kersman Equipment and Plating Company, and Mutual of Detroit Insurance Company. Most recently he worked as a truck driver for Equity Transportation Inc, from where he retired in 1988. Robert was very involved at Connection Point Church, where he was involved in their music ministry. He was a gifted musician and would occasionally play guitar and sing for the residents at local nursing homes. He liked his cars and he also enjoyed family get-togethers.
Robert will be lovingly remembered by his four children: Robert Stone Jr, Paul Tate, Ria (Jon) Chaffee, and Rusty Ericksen; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: Paul Stone and Allen (Doll) Stone; special friend and caregiver, Jean Vellenga; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Violet Stone; son, Richard “Rick” Stone; granddaughter, Brooke Stone; brother, Tim (Judy) Stone; daughter in-law, Donna Stone; and longtime significant other, Colleen “Coke” Christiansen.
