Mr. Robert George “Bob” Twa, age 91, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at a Muskegon hospital. He was born on February 22, 1922 in Crystal Falls, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula to the late Wesley and Angeline (Bouchard) Twa. Bob came to Muskegon, MI to work in 1945 and met Marjorie Vink. Bob and Marjorie later moved to McGrath in Alaska for five years to work as meteorologists for the U. S. Government. His work took him and his family to Sault Ste. Marie, MI and South Bend, IN and finally to Spring Lake, MI. Bob retired after a 33-year career as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, NOAA at the Weather Bureau in Muskegon and during this time he received the Silver Medal Award from the US Department of Commerce.
