Mr. Robert Lee "Bob" VanDyke's Obituary
Mr. Robert L. “Bob” VanDyke, age 67, passed away Friday evening, April 20, 2012 in Muskegon after a short illness. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan to Mildred (Schamber) and Lester VanDyke on June 27, 1944. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked 20 years at Dresser Industries and later at Interior Concepts, Rycenga Homes, Garage Door Specialists, and the Port City Group. He enjoyed deer hunting, riding his motorcycle, and was a member of the TTCM Happy Wanderers camping club. Bob was a fan of NASCAR, Red Wings hockey, and the Detroit Tigers. On December 17, 1976 he married the former Doris A. Smith-Bennett in Muskegon and she survives him along with step-children, Aaron (Michelle) Bennett, Laura (Christopher) Liebertz; granddaughters, Emma and Jillian Bennett; sister, Barbara Jados; niece, Katie (Ryan) Marks; 2 nephews, Matt (Sarah) Jados and Josh Jados. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday, April 26, 2012 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with Rev. John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday.
