Robert G. Veach's Obituary
Mr. Robert G. “Bob” Veach, age 70, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 11, 2017. He was born on March 25, 1947 in Grand Haven to Verner and Laura (Goodin) Veach, and resided in the area his entire life. Bob was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country in the Korean and Vietnam War. He was a member of VFW Post #3195. Bob worked at Federal Mogul for over 20 years prior to his retirement, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping at their cabin. On July 29, 1967, he married the former Barbara Sluis, and she survives him along with two children, Dian (Dave) Kaiser of Fruitport, and Robert (Tina) Veach of Grand Haven; five grandchildren, Trisha Ann Veach, Hailey Buckner, Sarina Buckner, Kyle Veach and Nathan Veach; and two sisters, Pauline (Lee) Rogers and Lucille Crowell. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Verner and Laura Veach. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Matt Eenigenburg officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, and one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Fruitport Cemetery.
