Robert E. "Gene" Wilson's Obituary
Mr. Robert E. “Gene” Wilson, age 88, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his home in Fruitport. He was born on January 31, 1929 to DeWitt and Merinda (Jarrells) Wilson in Obion, Tennessee and lived in the Muskegon area since 1946. Gene married Chrystal “Chris” McClain in South Carolina in 1949. He was a longtime member of Christian Life Center and was a core setter at Textron for 29 years prior to retiring in 1979. He enjoyed hunting and camping, but foremost was always the time spent with his family. SURVIVORS include his loving wife of 67 years, Chris; children, Ken Wilson, Karl (Mary) Wilson and Danny Wilson; grandchildren, Shari, Jo, Deanna, Jarrod, Danielle, Kenny, Chrystal and Merle; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, DeWitt Jr. (Donna) Wilson; and his daughter-in-law, Denise Wilson. Gene was preceded in death by 2 sons, Larry and Calvin; grandson, Nicholas; 2 sisters, Francis Kokx, Jewel Murray; and his brother, Herbert Wilson. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Christian Life Center, 16765 W. Fruitport Rd. Spring Lake with Rev. Curtis McClain officiating.
