Robert C. Yonkman's Obituary
Mr. Robert C. Yonkman (Bob), age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, February 21, 2023, at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, Lakeland, FL. Born January 10, 1942, in Muskegon, MI, to Albert and Mina (Veeneman) Yonkman; he had a love for biking, warm Florida weather and keeping up with the top auto trends. He was an excellent salesman and interior designer at Bell’s of Whitehall. Bob loved his family. Each of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart. On October 1, 1989, he married the former Debra Thielman. Bob is survived by his wife Debra Yonkman (Thielman), along with his children, Robert Yonkman Jr.; Sherri (David) Henkler; Julie (Marc) Lans; step-children, Nicole (Leif) Oquist and Eugene Morningstar; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Helmus; brother, Alan (Nancy) Yonkman; mother-in-law, Beverly Thielman, and 2 sisters-in-law, Barb Yonkman and Lois Thielman. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger; sister, Charlene Wolffis; father-in-law, Eugene Thielman; brother-in-law, Charles Thielman; son-in-law, Brian Burghduf. A CELEBRATION OF BOB’S LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 24 at Discovering Christ Church (formerly Fifth Reformed Church, 2330 Holton Road, Muskegon, MI 49445). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Fifth Reformed Church.
