Roberta "Rex" Frances Renfro's Obituary
Roberta F. “Rex” Renfro, age 80, passed away on October 25, 2021 after a long battle with dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease. Rex, as she preferred to be called, was born and raised in Kennewick, WA, where she also graduated from Kennewick High School. After graduation, she went to be in the Marine Corps (stationed in Santa Ana, CA), where she met her husband and later had a son. She then went on to work at the VA Hospital and Medical Clinic in Oklahoma City, OK; however, transferred to the VA Clinic in Grand Rapids, MI, in the mid 90’s, from which she retired. Rex was very passionate about her family. She loved to crochet, watch TV (especially old movies, Disney movies, and her shows of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune). She loved to eat snack foods and sweets – especially her chocolate and cookies. She loved to make people laugh with the crazy things she would say and do. Her grandchildren loved to make her laugh and smile. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Rudolph Renfro; sister, Alberta Roberts; and her parents. She is survived by her son, Richard (Sandra) Renfro; granddaughter, Karissa Renfro; grandsons, Austyn Renfro, Deaven (Maria) Renfro; great-grandsons, Ethan Gregor and Deaven Renfro Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held 11am-1pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
