Robert E. Starr's Obituary
Bob left his earthly home to join his parents in heaven on Saturday, December 27, 2008 with loved ones by his side. He is safe in the arms of Jesus and made whole again. A gentle and loving person, he will be deeply missed by all his family. A private family gathering will be held to celebrate his life and to remember how he touched each of us in his own special way. Tomorrow is never promised to anyone; don’t forget to say “I Love You” while you have the chance. We never did forget, and he knew we all loved him. It comforts our hearts. Bob leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Carol (Bill) Reek, with whom he made his home; nieces, Pam (Bill) Pothoff and Sherri (Tom) Schwab, who were his caregivers and the loves of his life; nephew, Bill (Jackie) Reek; and his loving great-nieces and nephews, Jennifer Lynch, Rob (Candice) Gerling, Mindy (Ty) Cesaretti, and Eric Schwab. Bob’s parents, Ed and Francis, surely were waiting to welcome him home. We have learned from this experience that there truly are angels on earth - the VNS Hospice House is one place where they dwell. One of them told us they were known by some as “God’s Midwives”, helping to deliver their charges into Heaven. We could not agree more. Our heartfelt thanks to each one of you for helping our loved one have a safe and peaceful journey home. Memorial contributions in Bob’s name may be made to VNS Hospice House.
