Robert E. Traxler's Obituary
Mr. Robert E. Traxler, age 79, passed away peacefully at Snug Harbor in North Muskegon on Sunday, June 12, 2005. He was born on April 18, 1926 to Charles A. and Jennie (Osredkar) Traxler in Muskegon, and had been a life time resident. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had served in WWII. Mr. Traxler was a Maintenance Supervisor at Whitehall Schools for 15 years and prior to that, had owned and operated Bob’s Barber Shop for 8 years. He attended Laketon Bethel Reformed Church. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter. On June 18, 1948, he married Ramona J. Cooper, and she survives him along with 5 children, Debra (Charles) Lothschutz of Twin Lake, MI, Vickie (Tom Trout) Traxler of California, Denise (Kevin) Frahm of Grass Lake, MI, Steven (Deanna) Traxler of Fremont, MI, Scott Traxler of Grand Rapids; 8 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Arlene Dunn. SERVICES will be 11AM Wednesday at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church (1568 W. Giles Rd.) with Rev. Sherwin Brantsen officiating. VISITATION will be 6-8PM Tuesday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210, and 10-11AM Wednesday at church. Interment will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in memory of Mr. Traxler may be made to Hackley Cancer Center or Laketon Bethel Reformed Church Building Fund.
