Robert H. DeYoung's Obituary
Mr. Robert H. DeYoung, age 83, passed away unexpectedly at home, Wednesday, May 5, 2010. He was born in Muskegon on June 13, 1926 to Russell and Dorothy (Sietsema) DeYoung and was a 1944 graduate of Muskegon Hts. H.S. Following graduation, Bob joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He returned to Muskegon following the war and began his career as a designer/draftsman at Continental Motors, retiring in 1988. Mr. DeYoung was a former member of Covenant Community Reformed Church and enjoyed traveling and sports. He is survived by: brother, Russell (Donna) DeYoung of Spring Lake; nephew, Dennis (Karen) DeYoung, two nieces, Karen (Jeff) Berghuis and Cindy Lawson and many great nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 Saturday, 11:00 A.M. Visitation with family will begin one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest in Restlawn Cemetery. For those desiring an expression of sympathy please contribute to the Muskegon Community Foundation.
