Robert L. Hill's Obituary
Mr. Robert LeRoy Hill, age 57, died Monday afternoon, May 2, 2011 in Bettendorf, IA. Bob was born May 3, 1953 in Muskegon, where he resided until moving to Moline, Ill 29 years ago. He retired from Case New Holland, Moline, IL in 2004. He loved horse racing, casinos and reading baseball history. His favorite teams were the Tigers, Cubs and Red Wings and also enjoyed NASCAR, PBR, banana bread and Creedence Clearwater. He was preceded in death by his father, Wm. J. Hill, January 29, 1980; his mother, Geraldine J. (‘nee Grant) Hill, November 24, 2004; 1 brother-in-law, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. SURVIVORS include 5 sisters, Betty Gay of Muskegon, Bonnie (Al) Bringedahl of Grand Haven, Judi (Stan) McCarty of TN, Peggy (Robert Kohnke) Rossiter of Muskegon and Lisa Hill of MI; 1 brother, Wm. (Deb) Hill of ILL; 20 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews; 8 great-great-nieces and nephews; and by two life-long friends, harry (Kathy) Morgan of Grand Haven and Dave (Barb) LePenna of Fremont. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 1 PM Friday, May 6, 2011 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6292 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100), with Pastor Gary Reiss, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeshore Cemetery, Grand Haven Twp., MI. VISITATION with Bob’s family will be one-hour prior to the service.
