Robert Lawrence Damm's Obituary
Mr. Robert Lawrence Damm, age 82, passed away Saturday Morning, July 31, 2010, at his home. Bob was born on September 28, 1927 to William J. and Garnett A. (Denio) Damm in Detroit. Robert served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during World War II. He had worked as a machinist at Muskegon Piston Ring for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1990. Bob married the former Patrica Louise Liberto and she preceded him in death on January 12, 1984. Robert then married the former Emily Sidock on June 27, 1987 at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church and she survives him. Bob was a life member of VFW #8846 where he had served as a historian for several years. He attended Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Rothbury. Robert loved sailing, both on Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan. He also enjoyed camping, woodworking, and gardening. In addition to his wife Emily, Bob is survived by 3 sons, Russell (Nancy) Damm of N. Muskegon, Danny Damm of Pensacola, FL; Bruce Damm of CA; step children, Vicki (Daniel) Hilliard of Muskegon, Joseph (Keeli) Gould also of Muskegon, Rhonda (Michael) Danielson of Whitehall, Carole (Timothy) Pruitt of Ravenna, and Todd Gould of Muskegon; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a brother, William (Jacqueline) of Muskegon; a step brother, Robert (Irene) Borgerding of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews; his best friend, Charlie Shields; and our special angels, Brenda Hicks and Jonathan Rager. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his step father Garve Borgerding, and ½ brother, Douglas DeNio. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at
