Robert L. "Bob" Priest's Obituary
Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Priest, age 81, passed away Wednesday evening, July 13, 2011. He was born May 23, 1930 in Ionia, MI to Stanton and Jennie (Castle) Priest. Mr. Priest was a graduate of Muskegon High School and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the Norge Company for 22 years and then for Porter Steel before retiring. Mr. Priest was a very active member of Northside Bible Church, where he served as Church Trustee. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, loved to eat, had a love for dogs, enjoyed rebuilding travel trailers, and also loved to tinker. On January 16, 1965, he married the former Phyllis H. Wilder in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on October 5, 2005. SURVIVORS include 3 daughters, Mary Sherwood, Jeri Gannon both of Muskegon, Patti (Noel) Cady of Wolf Lake; 2 sons, Mike (Holly) Priest of Whitehall, Tom (Diane) Priest of Muskegon; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, Rodney (Carol) Priest of Muskegon; twin sister, Barbara Chester of Twin Lake; 2 step-daughters; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Beverly Frank; his extended church family; and his dog, Quincy. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 12 Noon Saturday at Northside Bible Church with Rev. Lowell Wood officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mercy VNS & Hospice.
