Robert Louis "Bob" Swanson's Obituary
Mr. Robert Louis Swanson, age 51, passed away Sunday November 18, 2007, at a local hospital. Bob was born September 18, 1956 in Muskegon, and had been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Mona Shores High School and then served his country in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve. On December 19, 1980, Bob married the former Janell Ann Knapp at McGraft Congregational Church. He was employed at Great lakes Die Cast for the last 23 years as a tool and die repair person. Bob loved to hunt, fish and play football; he enjoyed playing electric and acoustic guitar and spending time with his family. Robert is SURVIVED by his wife Janell Ann; his son, Terry (Heather Jean) Swanson of Norton Shores; 2 grandchildren, Christopher Wade Swanson and Michael Louis Swanson; his Father, Hayden Smith of Muskegon; 2 brothers, Terry Swanson of West Olive, MI and Greg (Cindy) Smith of Grand Rapids; 4 sisters, Susan Lynn Van Hemert of Fremont, Sandra (Brooke) Major of Ravenna, Debra (Joel) Cook of Springfield, VA, and Cheryl (Al) Van Hemert of Olathe, KS; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacquelyn (Toxopeus) Smith on January 12, 2007. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Monday, November 26, 2007 at Broadway Baptist Church, 2892 South Oak Lane, with Rev. Don Letson officiating, and Full Military Rites under the auspices of VFW Muskegon County Council. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service (10-11AM). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Broadway Baptist Church. Interment will be made in Lakeside Cemetery.
