Roberto Ortigas Esteban MD's Obituary
Dr. Roberto Ortigas Esteban, age 85, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Hudsonville. He was born April 23, 1938 in Manila, Philippines and came to the United States in 1969. Dr. Roberto became a US Citizen in the mid-1970’s. On December 3, 1961, he married Cecilia Estuar Guevara in the Philippines. Dr. Roberto worked side by side with his wife as a physician for the State of Michigan before retiring in 1992. He later worked as a physician for the State of Oklahoma after his retirement. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Dr. Cecilia G. Esteban; 4 children, Gianelli Esteban, Roberto (Lucrezia) Esteban, Jr, Eugenio (Lynda) Esteban, Ramoncito Esteban; 9 grandchildren, Roberto (Holly) Esteban III, Todd (Emily) Esteban, Cymber (Jeremy) Stroven, Janelle Pernesky, Emily (Chase) Burgess, Gina (Erik) Klaus, Alyssa (Bradyn) Vis, Olivia Esteban, Cecilia Esteban; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Francisco O. Esteban and 2 sisters, Dolores E. Luna and Corazon E. Silva. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benito C. Esteban and Magdalena O. Esteban and 1 brother, Gabriel O. Esteban. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, January 12, 2024 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (239 W. Clay Ave) with the Rev. Fr. Norman P. Droski presiding. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Thursday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:15 PM Thursday evening. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
