Robert S. "Bob" Kuharevicz's Obituary
Robert Stanley Kuharevicz, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died Wednesday evening, June 23, 2010, in Norton Shores. A lifelong resident of the Muskegon area, Bob was born March 16, 1929, to Michael and Sophie (Kendra) Kuharevicz, the eighth of ten siblings and the youngest son. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War. On September 4, 1954, he married the former Phyllis Kufta and she survives him along with his six children: Jean (Fritz) Hayes of Tacoma, WA; Linda (Peter) Beck of Hillsdale, MI; Nancy Kuharevicz of Ann Arbor, MI; Ann Kuharevicz of Chandler, AZ; and Joseph and Michael Kuharevicz of Muskegon. He is also survived by grandchildren Zachary and Lauren Beck and Patrick and Kali Kuharevicz; a brother, Richard Kuharevicz; a sister, Rita Rederstorf; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob worked at Marathon Refinery then at Consumers Power B.C. Cobb Plant until his retirement in 1992. A lifelong member of St. Michael’s parish, Bob was active in church programs and organizations. The Kuharevicz Family would like to express their deep appreciation for the love and care numerous individuals have provided Bob during his recent stays at Knollview Manor and Seminole Shores. The FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, June 28, 2010, at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown presiding. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Bob’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441 (231-759-8565)where the Rosary will be prayed at 6PM Sunday. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider St. Michael’s Church or Harbor Hospice.
