Robert W. Chester's Obituary
Mr. Robert Chester, age 79, passed away Tuesday evening, October 18, 2011 in Muskegon. He was born March 12, 1932 to George and Helen (Golden) Chester in Hesperia, and was a life resident of West Michigan. Robert worked at Teledyne Continental Motors from 1951-1985 before retiring, and also owned and operated Tower Service in Twin Lake. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, belonged to River of Life Fellowship, enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family. On June 21, 1951 Robert married Muriel E. Green, and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Cheryl (Danny) Younts of Twin Lake, Rita (Donald) Shanty of Twin Lake; grandchildren, Kimberly (Daniel) Hekkema, Karla (Thomas) Buchan, Karmen (Timothy) Wiseman, Lee Younts, Ashley (Shane) Hassard, Chuck (Gina) Younts, Christopher Younts, Duane Heck, Robert Eklund, Brandon Eklund, Daniel Shanty, Jonathon Shanty; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, David (Maudie) Chester; 1 sister, Mona (Gary) Scouten; 3 brothers-in-law, Dave Watkins, Roy Green, Sr., George Green; 2 sisters-in-law, Jean Chester and Barbara Chester. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22, at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with Pastor Don Benedict officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday.
