Robert W. Martin's Obituary
Mr. Robert William Martin, age 71, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 7, 2005 at his home. He was born in Traverse City, MI on December 9, 1933 to Joseph and Eleanor Sladek and was baptized on May 27, 1934 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Suttons Bay, MI. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, having served with the 3rd Armored Division and was honorably discharged on May 18, 1955. Mr. Martin worked at Teledyne Continental Motors until he went into business for himself. He married the former Sandra Slover on July 30, 1955. He was a very devoted husband and best friend, and a very wonderful father who loved to teach his son, Mark, how to fish for walleye, and as a family just loved to go fishing and traveling. He was so proud of his son. He leaves his wife, Sandra Martin; his son, Mark and wife Paula; granddaughter, Rachael Torrey; great-granddaughter, Delaney Torrey; his daughter, Cindy Martin; granddaughters, Kara and Kristine; and great-grandson, Cameron. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Friday at
Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,737 Apple Ave.,(231) 726-5210 with Rev. William Uetricht officiating. Burial will take place at Mona View Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Thursday evening.
