Rochelle A. "Cherie" Richard's Obituary
Rochelle A. “Cherie” Richard, age 81, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, Chestnut Fields Retirement Community. Cherie was born on December 21, 1943, in Muskegon, Michigan to Charles H. and Clyta A. (Hermanson) LeFevre and lived in the area her entire life. On May 7, 1966, she married David C. Richard at St. Jean de Baptiste Catholic Church in Muskegon. Cherie worked for over 20 years in medical dictation at West Shore Urology and 31 years as the Leasing Administrator for Horizon Group, Inc. before retiring at the spry age of 75. She was a longtime member of the former St. Jean de Baptiste Catholic Church, where she was Treasurer of the St. Jean the Baptiste Heritage Endowment Foundation. She was a current member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Cherie was also active with M.A.W.N. (Muskegon Area Women’s Network) and loved the time spent with her “Stitch and Bitch” ladies. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Dave Richard; 3 children, Christine Richard of Daytona Beach, FL, Todd Richard of Traverse City, MI, and David (Sherah) Richard of Grand Rapids, MI, and 2 granddaughters, Emerson and McKenna Richard, also of Grand Rapids, MI; brothers Paul (Eleanor) LeFevre of Bonita Springs, FL, and Jacques (Diane) LeFevre of Indianapolis, IN; 2 sisters, Jenine Bourdon of Grand Rapids, MI, and Liane (Albert) Martino of Whitehall, MI; 2 sisters-in-law, Hyang Suk LeFevre of Bridgeport, CT and Helen LeFevre of Proctorsville, VT; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. and Clyta A. LeFevre; and her 2 brothers, Denis and Joffre LeFevre. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 16, 2025, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 239 W. Clay Ave, Muskegon, MI 49440, with Rev. Fr. David Sacha presiding. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
