Mr. Roger L. Halgren's Obituary
Mr. Roger L. Halgren, 90, passed away Monday afternoon, December 26, 2016, in Muskegon. He was born July 12, 1926 to Raymond and Johanna (Reus) Halgren in Muskegon, and lived all of his life in this area. Roger was a well-respected mason working in the construction field for 60 years before retiring. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and was a longtime member of Central Assembly of God where he was involved in the Men’s Ministry. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and just being outdoors. On June 19, 1971 Roger married Beverly J. Bakker, and she survives him along with in-laws, George (Roberta) Bakker of Terre Haute, IN, Marjorie Klages of Pasadena, CA and Elaine Halgren of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Raymond, Robert and Russell Halgren; 2 sisters, Edythe Paterson and Doris Johnson. A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Central Assembly of God. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
