Roger Craig Kitchen II's Obituary
Mr. Roger Craig Kitchen II, age 34, departed this life and entered eternal rest on Thursday, October 10, 2020. Roger was born on March 17, 1986 to Anita Lane and Roger Kitchen Sr. in Muskegon. He was fondly referred to as the “Leprechaun” because he was born on St. Patrick’s Day. His parents called him “Lil Man.” Roger was employed at Cincinnati Gearing as an Improvement Technician. He attended Garrison Global Academy in Cincinnati. Roger accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at the New Life Temple Baptist Church under the leadership, where he was a member. He enjoyed playing video games, computers and being around his family who he had a deep love for, especially his beautiful daughter, Madison Kitchen. He was so happy to see everyone last month for Uncle Beaver’s birthday party- Gran Gran, Aunt Sharon, Aunt Tracy, Uncle Joey, Uncle Beaver, Aunt Debra, Aunt Rita, Dannie, Darryl, Uncle Larry, Uncle Dwight and Samone; his main sidekicks: Tiffany, Pooh Pooh, Nikki, Laraya, and Meisha; friends and brothers forever: June June and Boz. Roger leaves to cherish in memories his daughter, Madison Kitchen; beloved parents, Anita (Vandell) Sneed and Roger Kitchen; grandmother, Gmoney Gran Gran Laura Kitchen; grandfather, Hardist Lane; ten siblings, Dewayne Cunningham, Jr., Ominique Bailey, Shaylyn Hapson, Vannisha Sneed, LatanJ’niq Williams, Vandell Sneed II, Beyonce Mitchell, Antwan Jones, Niasha Jones and Roger Kitchen III; a host of cousins, relatives and friends; and special friends from Cincinnati, Ohio, Jay Rodman-Richardson, Lloyd Trotter and Tyler (TJ) Smith. Roger was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Thelma Cummings-Hines; great-grandparents, MaryAnne and Lovert Cummings, Johnny and Daisy Lane; and paternal grandfather, Clell Kitchen; and the love of his life, Michelle “Shay Shay” Edwards. “Please don’t cry for me, I’m in a better place. In the still of the night when you hear the wind blow, that will be me checking on you. And when you thought you seen something out the sides of your eyes, that will be me making sure that you are okay.” A VISITATION for Roger will be held from 4-8 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, Michigan 49444, (231) 798-1100. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is allowed 80 guests in the building at a time. As people pay their respects to the family and exit the building, more guests will be allowed in. Masks will be required. A CELEBRATION OF ROGER’S LIFE will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Christ Temple Apostolic Church, 412 E. Sherman Blvd, Muskegon Heights, MI 49444 with Suffragan Bishop Avery R. Burrel Sr. officiating. BURIAL will be at Mona View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Madison Kitchen’s College Fund.
