Roger C. Patton's Obituary
Roger C. Patton, age 85, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019. He was born August 5, 1933 in Memphis, TN to F. Theophil and Mary (Harmon) Patton. Roger was a U.S. Army Veteran. On August 2, 1968, he married the former Diane Monette in Brunswick, MI and she preceded him in death on October 20, 2012. Roger was a teacher at Orchard View for 40 years prior to retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Muskegon Chamber Choir, Port City Playhouse and Muskegon Civic Theatre. Roger also enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading, and traveling. SURVIVORS include 4 children: Claire (Carl) Meyers of Ravenna, Clark (Sandy) Patton of Fremont, Scott (Gudrun) Patton of Howell, Mary (Tim Maat) Patton of Muskegon; special friend, Saundra Christie of Muskegon; 15 grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Leroy) Wilkinson of Lynchburg, TN; sister-in-law, Phila Patton of Jasper, TN; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers: James, David, and R. Scott Patton. A CELEBRATION OF ROGER’S LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 1, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, January 31, 2019. Burial will take place in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Brunswick.
