Roger Gene Wolffis' Obituary
On December 17, 2020, Roger Gene Wolffis entered the “Portals of Glory” relieved of years of suffering with Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. He met Jesus, family, and friends who eagerly awaited his homecoming. Roger was born to Claude and Angie (VanDyke) Wolffis on October 22, 1942. On May 29, 1964 he married Ginger Ceton, who was blessed to be his bride for 57 years. She often told him through the years that she adored, admired, appreciated him, and thought he was amazing. They knew the joy of the birth of three boys and one girl. Two sons died prematurely, Baby Bryan James and 18-year-old Daniel Scott. Roger retired from GTE in 1998. Following retirement, he worked part time at Lakeshore Market Place and Auto Value. In his spare time, Roger enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing and bicycling as well as many other activities. Roger was a member of Fruitport Bethel Baptist Church for 37 years and most recently a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Norton Shores. He loved his church family. Roger is survived by: son, Tim Wolffis and his wife, Kris; daughter, Pam and husband, Jim Greer; sisters, Arlene and Ted Ehrean of Pentwater and Ruth Fritsma of Florida; sisters-in-law, MaryLou Ceton of Grand Haven and Becky VanSteenkiste of Dewitt, MI; eight grandchildren, Katy, Josh and Anna Wolffis, Maggie (Greer) Aalderink and husband, Brad; Harry Greer of Spokane; Abbie Greer and Roger Greer, Amy (Greer) and husband, Cole Jay of Chicago; two great-grandchildren, Kyira and Malikai Aalderink; one great-grandbaby soon to come. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Dr. Jim Ceton, Al VanSteenkiste and David Fritsma. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 12PM Monday, December 21 at Bethel Baptist Church of Norton Shores (1066 E. Byron Rd., Norton Shores 49441) with a VISITATION one hour prior to the service (11AM-12PM).
