Roger D. Snyder's Obituary
Mr. Roger Dale Snyder, age 79, died Saturday morning July 5, 2008. He was born January 31, 1929 in Grand Rapids, MI to Joseph and Elizabeth (Kooyers) Snyder and had been a Muskegon area resident most of his life. Mr. Snyder was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran serving in Germany. He worked for American Store Equipment for 20 years before retiring in 1992. Mr. Snyder was a member of the American Legion, the VFW Post #5598 in Coopersville, and the Muskegon Eagles Aerie #668. He was an avid deer hunter, and belonged to the Muskegon Bowmen Club. On May 15, 1965 he married the former Barbara M. Whiteman in Muskegon and she survives him along with 2 nephews, Warren (Linda) Snyder, Jr., Rev. Dennis (Vicki) Snyder; niece, Diane (Todd) Fortenbacher; and dear friends, Ray and Joyce Rust. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Warren Snyder; and a nephew, Tom Snyder. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 11, 2008 at Fellowship Reformed Church with Rev. Greg VanderMeer officiating and military rites under the auspices of the VFW Muskegon County Council. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with his family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to the Fellowship Reformed Church Memorial Fund or the charity of your choice will be appreciated.
