Roger Leo Sass' Obituary
Mr. Roger L. Sass, age 61 passed away Friday afternoon, November 5, 2010 at Mercy Hospital following a heart attack. He was born in Muskegon on February 3, 1949 one of 12 children of Thomas and Geneva (Quinn) Sass. Roger was a 1967 graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central H.S. and was owner/partner of Sass Drywall. He was an avid hunter and member of the Ruffed Grouse Society. Mr. Sass was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, an advisor/panel member to Muskegon Area Career and Technical Center and current board member of the Shoreline Builders Association. On January 4, 1969, he married the former Sheila Lynne Bolema and she survives him along with their four children, Peter (Laurel) Sass, Sarah (Benjamin) Rooks, Thomas (Melisa) Sass and Luke Sass all of Norton Shores; three grandchildren, Veda and Owen Rooks and a grandson on the way; four brothers, Michael (Mei-Lung), Bernard (Ann), David (Norma Jean) and Timothy (Pamela) Sass; six sisters, Barbara (David) Gosma, Marilyn (Ron) Keefe, Joan (Steve) Grady, Carol (George Weber) Sass-Tuttle, Judith (Larry) Gerardot and Diane Bailey; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at, 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 11, 2010 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Fr. Phillip Salmonowicz presiding. The family will begin greeting guests one hour prior in the Church’s Marian Chapel.
