Roland W. Linstrom's Obituary
Roland Wayne Linstrom went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, with his family at his side. Ron was born in Muskegon, MI to Harold and Ella (Wentzloff) Linstrom on May 28, 1937. Ron graduated from Muskegon High School in 1955 and married his high-school sweetheart, Brenda Joyce Robinson on June 28, 1958. Ron was in the Naval Reserve from 1960 - 1962, worked for GTE for 35 years and enjoyed an early retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Roosevelt Park. Ron was respected among his peers and had a passion for golf, sailing, Tigers baseball and most of all his family. He is survived by: his wife, Brenda (Robinson) Linstrom; brother, Frederick (Natalie) Linstrom; oldest son, Roland (Catherine) Linstrom II; daughter, Karen (David) Miller; youngest son, Robert (Shuniece) Linstrom; grandchildren: Brittany (Matthew) Sussman, Theresa (Douglas) Kirk, Nick, Jacob and Jonathan Miller, Andrew (Tiffany Carwile) Linstrom, Adrienne (Nic) Hughes, Brayton (Adam) Mendenhall and Miah (Jessica) Johnson; great-grandchildren: Maxwell Sussman, Alexis and Ashlynn Linstrom, Hannah Carwile, Alexandra and Samantha Johnson, Hudson, Jaxon and baby-on-the-way Hughes; and his cat, Mandy. Flowers may be sent to The Sytsema Chapel, 737 E. Apple Ave. (231-726-5210). Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or The Noah Project. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens at 1:30 PM with a luncheon and fellowship following at Trinity Lutheran Church (3225 Roosevelt Road).
