Roland "Clif" Hellman's Obituary
Mr. Roland Clifford “Clif” Hellman, age 67, passed away Tuesday afternoon following a long illness. Mr. Hellman was born on October 5, 1940 in Muskegon to Clifford “Kip” and Doris (Johnson) Hellman. He was a life long resident of Muskegon and was employed at Johnson Products (Hy-lift Division of Sealed Power) for 44 years retiring in 2004. He married the former Melissa Johnston in Indiana on April 5, 1962. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2003. Clif was a faithful member of Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church and also the Fruitport Eagles. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and his dog, Sammy. He is survived by: 2 children, Stephen P. (Adriana) Hellman of Fruitport and Heidi L. Fisher of Fruitport; grandchildren, Melissa and Nicole Hellman and Isabel, Ellie and Gavin Fisher; 2 sisters, Priscilla A. (Bill) Cross of Montague and Nancy L. (Jack) Parker of Muskegon and a special friend, Verna Johnston of Canada. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Esther Zimmerman and brother, Gordon Hellman. The funeral service will be held at Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1860 E. Hile Rd., Friday, December 7, 2007, 11:00 A.M., Rev. Dennis Stroh officiating. He will be laid to rest in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores. Memorial contributions may be made to Dr Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church.
