Mr. Rolf William Akerlind's Obituary
Mr. Rolf W. Akerlind, age 76, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012. He was born August 8, 1935 in Muskegon to Rolf K. and Verley (McCleary) Akerlind. On June 17, 1961, he married Bonnie G. Langwell and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage together. He was employed 44 years at Brunswick until he retired in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Mary Abbring; granddaughter, Chrissie Fuller; grandson, Andy Abbring; sister-in-law, Linda (Keith) Allen; nieces, Becky (Michael) Mc Laughlin, Marci (Albert) Mitchell; nephews, Thomas Allen, Douglas Allen; and many great nieces and nephews. Rolf was preceded in death by his parents, Rolf and Verley Akerlind; parents-in-law, Walter and Mildred Langwell; brother-in-law, Thomas Langwell. The Funeral Service for Rolf will be at 10 A.M. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Lee Chapel. A time of visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the funeral at 9 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Little Red House, 311 E. Exchange St., Spring Lake, MI 49456 or in honor of all the joy that he received from his pets, please consider a contribution to a local animal rescue of your choice.
