Roma Oberg's Obituary
Mrs. Roma Oberg, age 87, went to be with her Lord early Friday morning, April 30, 2004. She was born March 7, 1917 to John and Ellen (Goodman) Bergman in Rapid River, MI, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1962. While living in the Upper Peninsula she worked in Manistique at the Michigan Assoc. Telephone Company, and also at Lauerman’s Department Store. She was a member of Sheridan Drive Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Junior Choir, and the Girls Missionary Guild. She was involved with the Women’s Missionary Fellowship, taught and hosted the Good News Club, and for 54 years, she was active with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Locally, she stayed involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship of Muskegon. On August 1, 1942 she married Robert E. Oberg in Gulliver, MI. SURVIVORS include her husband Robert of Muskegon; 3 children, Janell (Robert) Mills of Lorton, VA, Rev. Brian (Ellen) Oberg of Muskegon, Cheryl (John) Morris of Hanover Park, IL; 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Delwin, Gordon, and Howard Bergman; 1 sister, Charlotte Ellen Bergman. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Sheridan Drive Baptist Church, with Reverend Stephen Rumley officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
