I'm so sorry to hear about Roman's passing. My heart hurts for all of you. I knew him from DaySpring where my mom lived for 4 years in Lakewood. I would see him in the hall by the birds or out in the foyer waiting to be picked up for church on Sundays. He ALWAYS had a smile and greeting whenever I came upon him. May God bless you and may the fond memories of him carry you through this difficult time.

Roman taught me much of what I know about the history and the protocols of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a mentor and encouraged me to be more than just a parishioner at Sacred Heart Parish. I will miss him greatly, but I know he is with his Dorothy. I love seeing those two together and hope to see them again.
“Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
I knew Roman only this past fall Sept - through Jan. He lived at the Assisted Living Facility, DaySpring, where my mother lives. Every day I'd go in to visit my Mother, Roman was sitting in the hallway, if he was awake, we would talk, but if he was asleep, I'd just walk by & let him rest. But what an interesting and kind man he was! He became a dear friend with lots of great stories! I was saddened to hear Roman passed this week. I hope he knew Jesus as his Savior. What a sweet man he was!!
Roman joined the Knights of Columbus along with his father, when he turned 18 in 1946. Over the next couple of years he went through all 4 degrees of the Knights. He gave much to the Order over the next 70 plus years. He was the Grand Knight of Council #706 in Muskegon (twice), he traveled the state as a member of the Major Degree Team for many years, he was very active at both the Council Hall and at his parish, Sacred Heart Church and in his late 80’s he traveled around to 6 councils as my District Warden for 4 years. Roman always wanted to attend Knights meetings all over the Muskegon area because he liked the camaraderie and fraternity of the other Knights. Mike Lewis
My daughter and I have taken our therapy dogs , singer, maya and Lexi to visit at Daysprings for the past 5 years now, Roman loved our visits and we loved home,
We will so miss his smile, stories, and warm hugs
I am sure he is now an angel watching over us
