Ronald L. Brantman's Obituary
Ronald L. Brantman, age 78, passed away Friday morning, February 2, 2018. He was born September 24, 1939 in Reed City, MI to Lester and Lorna (Gaedcke) Brantman. The family moved to Muskegon after his first birthday. He graduated from Muskegon High School and worked at Bowen Fischer for 25 years before buying his own business in 1986 – Jordan’s Auto Clinic. He also ushered at the Walker Arena for many years. Summer Celebration found him at the front gate ushering you into the performance of the day. For the past five Septembers, Ron drove one of his many tractors over the Mackinac Bridge with his friends from the Antique Farm Power Club of Newaygo. On July 14, 1962, he and the former Connie Upton were married and were blessed with 55 wonderful years together. Their love for traveling took them to many states, including eight trips to Hawaii. Sports including the Red Wings, Tigers, and NASCAR were his passion. Ron is survived by his wife, Connie; daughter, Lori (Steven) Anderson, son, James Brantman and former daughter-in-law, Julie Brantman; 7 grandchildren: Jacob (Rebecca Bolen) Anderson, Elizabeth (Corey) Frey, Michael (Camille Charette) Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, Theodore (Crystal) Brantman, Jerry and David Boone; 4 great-grandchildren: Austin and Addison Frey, T.J. and Gabriel Brantman; brother, Leon (Barb Jones) Brantman; sister, Shirleyann (Carl) Bush; and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 5, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-5 PM Sunday, February 4, 2018 and one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery.
