Mr Ronald B. Byersmith's Obituary
Ronald B. Byersmith, age 90, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, February 10, 2017. Ron was born on August 30, 1926 to Louis and Agnes (Marleau) Byersmith. In 1953 he married the former Mary Louise “Pat” Brell. Together they were blessed with 6 children and 51 years of marriage until her death in 2004. Ron was a WWII veteran and a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He was also a Boy Scout Master, a member of the Muskegon Coin Club, Stamp Club, Duplicate Bridge Club (ACBL) and the Muskegon Notre Dame Club. Ron received the Father of the Year award from the Divine Infant Catholic School in Westchester, IL. as well as the Man of the Year award from the Muskegon Notre Dame Club in 1984. He was a devoted, loving, gentle, kind man who will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. Ron’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. His legacy of virtue, kindness and generosity will live on in his family. Ron is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Tricia) Byersmith, Susan (Bob) Young, Betsy (Joe) Kern, Debbie (Bob) Beckquist, Lisa (David) Jirikovic, and David Byersmith; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Phillip) Wolfram, Katie (R.J.) Balzen, Matthew (Paula) Young, Meaghan Young, Christopher Young, Kristen Kern, Sean (Katie) Kern, Sarah (Phillip) Easley, Michael Beckquist, Amy (Connor) Reardon, Allison Byersmith, Andrew Byersmith, Anthony Byersmith and Annie Byersmith; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Hailley, Kieran, Elisa and Victoria; sister, Rosemary Harroun; and former daughter-in-law, Julie Byersmith. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother- Louis (Mary Alice) Byersmith. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 2929 Mc Cracken. VISITATION will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. A prayer service and time of sharing will take place at 7pm. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the start of the Mass at Church. Memorial Contributions can be made to Harbor Hospice Foundation or Muskegon Catholic Central.
