Ronald Carlson's Obituary
Ronald Wayne Carlson, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2017. He was born in Muskegon, MI on December 19, 1928 to Olaf and Eleda (Lans) Carlson. On September 28, 1951, Ron married Florence Scholtz in Muskegon. Ron was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church, where he was a choir member for many years. He was employed by Hart Dairy, Sanitary Dairy and Clarke Floor Machine. Ron’s greatest enjoyment in life was his family, with whom he spent as much time as possible. He also enjoyed woodworking at home and was very talented with a scroll saw. Ron is survived by his wife, Florence; three sons: Gary (Joan) of Allendale, MI, Wayne (Lois) of North Muskegon and Dale (Ruth) of Roosevelt Park; nine grandchildren: Carrie (David) Clark, Kristin (Robert) Keisling, Kevin Carlson, Nathanael (Jenna) Carlson, Christina Carlson, Lyndel (Travis) Hunt, Leah (Jonny) Morehouse, Andrew (Kailee) Carlson and Kathryn Carlson; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Wesley Carlson of Hart, Michigan. Ron was preceded in death by his three brothers, Wilmer, Paul and Merle, and two sisters, Mildred Peterson and Marjorie Anderson. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Forest Park Covenant Church (3815 Henry St.) with Rev. Shelly Kurth and Rev. Larry Bush officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Muskegon Rescue Mission or Portage Lake Covenant Bible Camp.
