Mr. Ronald Ward Crummel's Obituary
Ronald Ward Crummel, 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Ron and his identical twin brother, Roland, were born September 8, 1939 in Muskegon, Michigan to Ward and Grace (Rivers) Crummel.
Ron graduated from Muskegon High School in 1957 and from Western Michigan University with a BA in Business Administration. He served in the United States Army 25th Division from 1963-1965 stationed in Hawaii, a place to which he would return many times. He married Berta Jane (Rusty) Janda on February 5, 1966. After working for the Brown Paper Company in Kalamazoo, he moved his family to Northport, Michigan, where he worked for the Area Agency on Aging in Traverse City, served as Leelanau Township Clerk, and was Housing Coordinator for Leelanau County. Ron was a long-time member of Northport Evangelical Covenant Church and became a member of Prince of Peace Church upon returning to Muskegon.
Ron was known for his compassion for those who are less fortunate. He had a sense of humor and a gift of kindness that touched many. His hobbies included sailing, home improvement projects, golf and travel. He had a love of the beach and the dance floor.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Rusty; father, Ward; mother, Grace; step-mother, Ann (Therrian) Crummel; brothers, Donald in 1934, and John in 1947. He is survived by his fiancée, Margaret Hauxwell; his children, Holly (Joe) Wittenberg, Heather (Jeremy) Deighton, Jon Crummel; grandchildren, Alison, Jared, Jonathan; and identical twin brother, Roland (Karen)Crummel.
THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1110 Dykstra Rd. Muskegon on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. with visitation being one hour prior at the church.

A memorial service will be held at Northport Evangelical Covenant Church 409 S. Shabwasung St., Northport, MI 49670 on Monday, November 9, 2015 at noon. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.
