Ronald J. Essenberg's Obituary
Ronald “Ron” Jay Essenberg, age 68, passed away September 1, 2025, in Norton Shores, MI. He was born on October 10, 1956, to Calvin and Norma-Jeanne (Granger) Essenberg. He was a lifelong resident of Muskegon, MI. On August 3, 1985, Ron married the love of his life, Lyndie Risher, together they spent 40 years making memories together. They enjoyed going on many cruises and vacations together with friends, even a special Hawaiian vacation. They also enjoyed going to Florida to spend time with his sister Pam and Lyndie’s family
Ron retired from Betten Auto 2 years ago where he worked as an automotive detailer and has done this all his life. His love for cars led him to never really retire, as he continued to carry this passion with him into his retirement. When he wasn’t working on cars, Ron loved classic rock, which led him to enjoy reading in his retirement, as he enjoyed learning about band members. A memory that will be cherished by his nieces and nephews would be going to the cottage and playing aggravation with Uncle Ron at the picnic table.
Ron will be remembered by his wife; 3 brothers, Tim (Marilyn), Gary, and Lynn (Jackie); 5 sisters, Debra, Dawn (Randy), Sheila (Gerry), Lori (Craig), and Pam; 10 nieces; Vickie Lynn (Jack), Connie (Scott), Renee (Bob), Wendy, Holly (Anthony), Rachel, Olivia, Cady (Eric) Carry and Angela (Todd) ; 8 nephews; Paul, Rob (Linda), Brian (Tonia), Chad (Nicole), Jeffrey (Rhonda), Logan, Rene and William (LeeAnna) ; mother-in-law, Joyce (Keith Miller) Rust; brother-in-law, Dannie Risher; and sister-in-law, Cindie (Bill) Gilliland. Ron is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy; sister-in-law, Kathleen; brothers -in- law, David, Charlie, Marvin and Randy; Father-in-law, Ray; and nephew, Christopher.
A Celebration of Life will take place on September 10, 2025, at Mona Lake Boat Club, 372 Randall Rd., Norton Shores, MI 49441, from 3:00 PM- 6:00 PM.
