Ronald J. Griswold's Obituary
Ronald Jay Griswold, age 61, passed away while surrounded by his family in Montague, MI, on Monday, December 1, 2025. Ronald was born in Muskegon on November 23, 1964, to Robert and Arlene (Doctor) Griswold, and he lived his whole life in west Michigan. He graduated from Wesley School and went on to work for nearly 30 years at Goodwill Industries, retiring in 2018.
Ronald had a quick wit and a great sense of humor; he was always able to take a joke and typically would respond with an even better comeback. He loved watching the Three Stooges, raking the leaves in the yard, and anything to do with John Wayne. He enjoyed music, especially Kenny Rogers, and loved going to concerts and dancing. Ronald had a happy go lucky attitude and was always willing to go on any adventure life threw at him, whether it was kayaking, riding ATVs, or going for a ride in the Jeep. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him, his four siblings: Jack Griswold, Dennis (Shirley) Griswold, Brian (Pam McGovern) Griswold, and Janice Sullivan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended relatives. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Sharon Griswold.
A Private Graveside Service is being held for Ronald, but memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics. Arrangements entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442.
