Ronald L. Hegbloom's Obituary
Ronald L. Hegbloom, age 72, passed away May 9, 2021 in Dunnellon, Florida. He was born on October 13, 1948 to Nestor and Eleanor (Pohjola) Hegbloom and resided in the Muskegon area all of his life. Ron graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1966 before going to Barber College in Detroit, and graduating in 1967. Ron then married the former Karol Manchester and they had two children together, Scott and Rhonda. Ron was a barber in Muskegon for 51 years. Many of those years spent with his brother, Bob at Apple Ave. Barber Shop. Ron belonged to many clubs, including the West Michigan Street Rod Association, Port City Puddle Jumpers, Port City Model “A’s”, West Michigan Country Antique Car Club, Corvette Club, Muskegon Elks, Vikings Linne Lodge 57 and the Eagles. He also belonged to the Barbers Union. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, building hot rods and classic cars, painting, wood working, carpentry and remembering jokes. In 2005, Ron married the former Cathie Lynn, and she survives him along with Ron’s two children, Scott (fiancée, Cindi Kirchenbauer), Rhonda (Mike) Sweet; five grandchildren, Cassidy (Kyle) Mura, Shelby Scholl, DeLaney Scholl, Piper Sweet, Victoria (fiancé, Sam) Hegbloom Suchek; five great grandchildren, Kaiser Mura, Arthur Mura, Edgar Mura, Valerie Suchek and Jolene Suchek; sister, Janice Hall, sister-in-law, Judy Hegbloom; many nieces and nephews; three step-children, Caleb Nummerdor, Sephram (Farrand) Raymond, Gabrielle Johanning; four step-grandchildren, Aiden Raymond, Buddy (Kristine) Raymond, Jake Raymond, Anna (Nathan) Cooley; and four step-great grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Nestor and Eleanor Hegbloom; brother, Robert Hegbloom; and brother-in-law, William Hall, Jr. A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be from 1-3 PM Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Vikings Linne Lodge 57 (3132 Lakeshore Drive Muskegon, MI 49441).
