Ronald Dean Iams' Obituary
Ronald Dean Iams, age 72, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 24, 2025 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 22, 1052 to Albert and Arvilla (Meyers) Iams. Ron was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He earned a master’s degree in nursing and worked as an Emergency Room Trauma Nurse, where his skill, dedication, and compassion made a lasting impact. He was also instrumental in developing one of the early Telehealth programs in the late 1980s, helping shape the future of remote medical care. A passionate world traveler, Ron especially loved spending time in Europe. He was a voracious reader with a deep love of studying and research, always seeking to learn, discover, and understand more about the world around him. Ron is survived by his Godson, Sonny; special cousin, Cheryl Hobgood; siblings, George (Carol) Iams, James Iams, Blanch Wemple, and Carmen (Mike) Hladki; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two life partners, Henry and Amari; his parents; and two infant siblings, Jackie Iams and Arvilla Iams. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a small CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will be announced at a later date.
