Ronald Lew Kevern's Obituary
Mr. Ronald Lew Kevern, age 73, passed away at his home unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. He was born in Muskegon on July 13, 1947 to Howard and Pearl (Thomas) Kevern. Ron was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was employed by CWC Textron for 23 years prior to his retirement in 1986. Ron was a member of the American Legion, Tatra Hall, and was an active member of the Local UAW 539. He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working on cars, especially hot rods. His first hot rod was a 1968 Chevy Nova 396 SS that he loved to race. He later had a 1933 Ford Vicky, 1953 Ford Vicky, and a 1955 F100 custom truck. Ron enjoyed attending car shows, word search puzzles, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved wrestling and joking around with his grandsons and held a special place in his heart for his only granddaughter whom he affectionately referred to as “his little girl”. Ron will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who had a generous heart and was always willing to help others in need. On May 15, 1973, he married the former Linda Smith in Muskegon and she survives him along with their three sons, Ronald Paul (Melissa) Kevern, Jeffery (Michelle) Kevern, and Chad (Stacy) Kevern; six grandchildren, Jakob, Wyatt, Conway, Waylon, Emery, and Turner; and one brother, Richard Kevern. A MEMORIAL VISITATION will be held from 3-7 PM Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Due to current state restrictions and concerns with social distancing, masks will be required and a maximum of 25 persons indoors will be allowed.
