Mr. Ronald Byron May's Obituary
Mr. Ronald Byron May, age 66, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Ronald was born April 12, 1949 to Gayle and Mabel (Fletcher) May in Hart. Ron was a 1967 graduate of Hart High School and a 1973 graduate of Michigan State University. His professional career included Staircase Youth Services, Director of Oceana’s Home Partnership Program for over 20 years; and many more years of dedicated service to the surrounding communities. Ron was passionate about sustainable community development, affordable housing and social justice. He also enjoyed performing with his guitar, writing music, and fishing. Ron is SURVIVED by his children, Brian (Nicole) May of Ludington, Kristin (Jacob) May Smith of Grand Rapids, and Ethan May of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Kaylee, Ingrid, Hannah, Brooklyn, Zachary and Allison; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Thom (Joann) May, Steve (Katie) Beckholt, Mike Huff and Todd (Barbara) May; his sister, Gayla (Bill) Carskadon; and many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at a location and date to be determined.
