Mr. Ronald "Ron" Ring's Obituary
After a courageous 2 year battle with cancer, Mr. Ronald H. “Ron” Ring, 73, passed away Saturday evening, July 7, 2018, in Muskegon surrounded by those who loved him. He was born December 8, 1944 to Sterling and Helen (Scobey) Ring in Gary, IN, and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. Ron worked at Pliant Plastics for 28 years before retiring in 2015, and had previously worked at Muskegon Piston Ring. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Ron was a loving, devoted husband. He could fix anything; he loved working on cars, was a huge Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan, enjoyed drag racing and took great pride in his 1971 El Camino. On October 28, 1988 he married Beverly A. Leafers, and she survives him along with a brother-in-law, Charles (Sherye) Beckman; sister-in-law, Jean (Jerry) McKenzie; sister-in-law, Emma Ring; nieces, Jackie (Doug) Rich, Jill (Jeff) Johnson; great-nieces, Natalie and Mallory Rich; great-nephews, Tanner and Brock Johnson; stepbrother, Johnny Ring; stepsister, Kaye Ring; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Charles and Howard “Gene” Ring; in-laws, Herbert and Stella Beckman; brother-in-law, Richard Thompson and sister-in-law, Betty Thompson. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 19, at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the Mass.
