Ronald Routt's Obituary
Ronald Routt, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2015 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born on February 2, 1939 to Arthur and Margaret (Morin) Routt in Muskegon. Ron served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked 35 years as a sheet metal fabricator and retired from Bauer Sheet Metal in 2001. Ron belonged to the Local 7 Sheet Metal Union and was an avid bow hunter. He was a skilled craftsman and truly enjoyed a project big or small. On August 12, 1988, he married Patricia Buikema and she survives him along with 5 children, Todd (Anna) Routt, Tracy (Marti Jo) Routt, Kristin (John) Pfefferkorn, Kallie (Ryan) Bailey and Matthew (Brea) Buikema; 9 grandchildren, Tehran, Tristan, Kailash, Peyton, Jacob, Reegan, Breckin, Matthew and Emerson; brother, Donald (Sandy) Routt; sister, Karen (John) Hellman and brother-in-law, Jack Garlock. He was preceded in death by his parents; mom, Lulu Routt and his sister, Barbara. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. MEMORIALS can be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
