Mr. Ronald B. Ruel's Obituary
Mr. Ronald B. Ruel, 63, passed away Monday evening, January 27, 2014 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born December 19, 1950 in Muskegon. Ron was a member at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church, active in its youth ministry, and was passionate for the youth and community sports programs within the Oakridge school system. His greatest joys were family get togethers; trips to Gatlinburg, Disney and others; sitting with his dog, Kada; and watching his kids and grandkids grow. Ron enjoyed attending sporting events, especially Oakridge, Michigan State and the Detroit Tigers. He graduated from Oakridge High School in 1969, worked at Teledyne, and most recently, served as the maintenance and transportation supervisor at Oakridge Public Schools the past 23 years, retiring in 2013. Ron is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kris; seven children and their families, Ron (Tammy) Ruel, Ryan, Riana, Raegan, and Riley; Lori (Kenny) Whipple, McKenna, Macy, Monica, and Mallori; Tracy (Jenni) Ruel, Taylor, Brooke, TJ, Kennidie, Peyton, and Eli; Troy (Erica) Ruel, Hayden, Delaney, and Reilyn; Trisha (Mike) Hall, Landen, Lauren, and Leah; Rick (Keara) Ruel, and Ethan; Luciana (Guil) Montiero, Lucas, and Manuela; his mothers, Wanda Ruel; and Clara McLaughlin; brothers, Dan and Bill McLaughlin; sister, Brenda (Tim) Gibson; many sisters and brothers in-law; nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Ruel; stepfather, Bill McLaughlin; and in-laws Estel and Jean Johnson. The funeral service for Ron will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 1, at
