Mr. Ronald L. Singleton's Obituary
Mr. Ronald L. Singleton, age 89, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 13, 2012. He was born July 28, 1923 to Walter and Stella (Anderson) Singleton in Eubank, KY, and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp. veteran of WWII. Mr. Singleton worked at Grand Rapids Millwork, and was the co-owner, with his wife, of Singleton Reproductions in Grand Rapids. Ron was a member of the Muskegon Church of Christ. He was a mentor to many and a friend to all. He will be deeply missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. On November 21, 1942 Ron married Maxine M. VanderLeest in Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Maxine; 4 children, Linda (Ronald) Mixter, Susan (Doug) Kirk, Michael (Ann) Singleton, Mary (Duane) Frazine; 8 grandchildren, Ronald (Tina) Mixter, Jr., Rachelle (Mike) Gillard, Duane (Courtney) Frazine, Jr., Brian (Amanda) Hieftje, Gregory Singleton, Sarah Singleton, Steve (Chriztine) Kirk, Stacey James; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Charlotte (Herbert) Dean; sisters-in-law, Joanne Sterenberg, Barb VanderLeest; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Joy; 1 great-granddaughter, Paige Belanger; father and mother-in-law, Henry (Johanna) VanderLeest. THE FUNERAL SERVICE for Mr. Singleton will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, November 16, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100), with Tim Bryson officiating. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Thursday evening. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
