Ronald Gene Spicer's Obituary
Ronald Gene Spicer, age 82, passed away on Saturday May 3, 2025, in Muskegon, MI. Ronald was born on June 27, 1942, to Harry and Ethel Spicer. He lived in the Muskegon area his whole life. On August 29, 1970, he married the former Shirley Smith, and they spent 52 years full of love. Ron and his wife enjoyed sitting by the lake and watching the sunsets at night. Ron attended Orchard View High School and went on to be a foreman at PCL before transitioning into Dura Automotive.
When Ron was not working, he enjoyed spending time in his woodshop, creating many beautiful pieces of art, such as bird houses and wishing wells. He loved to tell stories, if you knew him, you were entertained. In his later years, while at SKLD nursing home, he and his roommate/best friend Tony, and the wheel-chair mafia, spent time coloring, telling stories and listening to music.
Ron is survived by his 2 children, Troy (Emily) Spicer and Tory (Adam) Ferrier; 3 grandchildren, Madison, Avery and Aliyah; 4 step grandchildren, Maxwell (Jesslyn), Collin, Alison and Lillyana; many nieces and nephews; special friends Rayora Spray, Rita Harpe and Rick Welch; and his roommate/best friend Tony Hiner. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and his siblings.
Arrangements entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI, 49442. Please share memories with the family on our online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
