Ronald E. Stratton's Obituary
Ronald E. Stratton, age 82, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017. He was born July 25, 1934 in Muskegon to Frank and Golda (Gill) Stratton. Ron graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1952. He worked for Aero Manufacturing and Machining Company for 40 years and retired from Herman Miller after 7 years of employment. On March 6, 1954, he married the former Janice L. Frizzell in Muskegon. Ron was an active member of Fellowship Reformed Church where he had been an Elder and Deacon, was the caretaker for 7 years, as well as belonging to the Sunday night prayer group. He and his wife Janice also went on a mission trip to Mississippi following hurricane Katrina to help build a campground. Ron was an active Fruitport School Band Parent for many years while his kids were in school. He also coached and managed a Little League baseball team called “Aurich’s Grocery” and for many years fixed toys for the Goodfellow’s organization. SURVIVORS include his wife, Janice; 4 children: Ronda (Richard) Kotecki of Fruitport, Cheryl (Randy) Bell of Port St. Lucie, FL, Chris (Martha) Stratton of Muskegon, Kimberly (Dave Morgan) Stratton of Hobe Sound, FL; 7 grandchildren: Jeremy (Ivana) Bell, Nathan and Joel Bell, Rebecka (Tom) Hoyt, Rochelle (Pat) Buzzard, Rachel (Jim) Henderson, Jennifer (Joe Clapp) Kreigh; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way very soon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Renee Kotecki; parents; and his brother, Donald Stratton. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Fellowship Reformed Church with Rev. Mike VanKampen officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Fellowship Reformed Church Memorial Fund.
