Ronald Villanueva's Obituary
Mr. Edward Ronald “Ron” Villanueva, age 80, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on October 27, 1943 to Francisco and Mary (Gomez) Villanueva. Ron was a veteran of the United States Army and Army National Guard. He was employed as a welder by Howmet Corporation for 11 years and L3 Technologies for 33 years prior to his retirement. Ron was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He enjoyed working in his yard, woodworking, attending races at Thunderbird Speedway, was a loyal Notre Dame Football fan, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Most importantly, Ron was a devoted and loving husband and father, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. On March 23, 1967, Ron married the former Ellen Bowman in Muskegon and she survives him along with three children, Anthony (Rachel) Villanueva, Dan Villanueva, and Anja (Andreas Koebbe) Probst; seven grandchildren, Bobby LeRoy, Claire (Nate) Sweet, Colin (Dedra) Villanueva, Becca Villanueva, Connor Villanueva, Ella Villanueva, and Lucas Villanueva; two great-grandsons, Rowan and Miles; siblings, Clara Patricio, Cay Aguliar, Carol Garcia, Yolanda Martinez, Geno (Marcia) Villanueva, Ruben Villanueva, Tim (Mary) Villanueva, Julian (Patricia) Villanueva, Virgil Villanueva, Rock Villanueva; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Christina Villanueva, Susan Pitcl, Ceasar Villanueva, Christopher Villanueva, Benny Villanueva, and Victor Villanueva. VISITATION will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 and one hour prior to his service on Wednesday at St. Francis. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken St., Norton Shores, MI 49441) with Fr. Steve Geerling presiding.
