Ronald A. Young's Obituary
Ronald Albert Young, age 86, passed away in Robinson Twp, MI on Friday, July 5, 2024. Ron was born in Chicago, IL on June 11, 1938, to Albert and Mary (Bauholzer) Young. Ron graduated from Grand Haven High School and spent the rest of his life living in Robinson Township. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. On May 5, 1961, he married the former Patricia Kelly, and the two of them spent 63 wonderful years together. He worked in various positions throughout his life but spent most of his career working as a breathing air technician for West Shore Services in Allendale. Ron was a longtime member and was very active in the community at St. John’s Lutheran Church, serving as an elder for many years and participating in the men’s bible study. He also was a volunteer first responder with the Robinson Twp. Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed fishing and was a gun enthusiast, and he loved to tinker with his cars and equipment. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia Kelly; two sons: Troy (Susan) Young and David (Vicki) Young; four grandchildren: Garret, Macy, Sierra, and River; brother, Daniel (Diana) Young; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sharon (Ray) Maslowski. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be taking place for Ronald at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 527 Taylor Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417. VISITATION will be taking place on Monday, July 8, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at The Vanzantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI, 49417, as well as an hour prior to the funeral at church.
