Ronald G. "Ron" Regeczi's Obituary
Mr. Ronald G. “Ron” Regeczi, age 73, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011. He was born in Muskegon Heights on September 1, 1937 to Joseph and Genevieve (Rynberg) Regeczi and lived his entire life in the area. Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked over 40 years as a draftsman for Lift-Tech International and retired in 2005. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Ron enjoyed golfing and was an avid Detroit Red Wings Fan. He especially cherished time spent with his granddaughters. On April 25, 1964, he married the former Berdena K. Rice in Muskegon and she survives him, along with 1 son, William “Bill” (Karilyn) Regeczi of Kent City; 2 granddaughters, Jarilyn and Charlie Regeczi; 2 brothers, Richard (Carol) Regeczi of Washington, Robert (Wendy) Regeczi of New York; 2 sisters, Shirley Clark and Donna Flickema both of Muskegon; 1 uncle, Michael (Elaine) Regeczi of Norton Shores; 5 brothers-in-law, Clarence (Alverna) Rice, Sam Rice, David (Judi) Rice, Dennis (Sue) Rice, Russell (Norine) Osbun; 1 sister-in-law, Marilyn Hepler; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Kay Regeczi in 1999 and his parents. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 12:00 PM Saturday, March 5, 2011 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with Ron’s family will be 4-8 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565.
