Ronald K. "Ron" Ogborn's Obituary
Mr. Ronald K. “Ron” Ogborn, age 64, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007 at a local hospital. He was born February 7, 1943 in Muskegon to Kenneth and Doris (Pennell) Ogborn and was a life resident of the area. On November 2, 1963, he married the former Iva R. Crabtree in Muskegon. Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement in March of 1998, Ron worked as a machinist for 31 years at Kaydon Corporation. Ron was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. SURVIVORS include his wife, Iva; 2 daughters, Rhonda (Robert) McIntire, Renee (Kevin) Johnson; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Schultz, Erica Johnson, Jessica (T.J.) VanderLaan, Andrew Johnson, Alecia Johnson, Erin Johnson, Paul McIntire, Malachi McIntire; and 4 great grandchildren, Trevor Schultz, Dylan Schultz, Jaley Schultz, and Kaden VanderLaan; 2 brothers, David (Beth) Ogborn, Scott (Diane) Ogborn; 3 sisters, Barb (Terri Conley) Ogborn, Dede (Jim) Videtich, Kathy (Rob) Kibbey; 3 brothers-in-law, Richard Crabtree, Estol Crabtree, Edwin (Diane) Crabtree; 4 sisters-in-law, Laura (Ed) Chvala, Melinda (Ed) Miotke, Lorine Crabtree, Paula Crabtree; and best friends, Bob and Tob Pennell. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with the Rev. Greg Howard officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Egelston Township Cemetery with Military Rites offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION with Ron’s family will be 6-9 PM this evening (Tuesday) and one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
